The Internet of Things (IoT) is a new paradigm in which different devices interact with each other without human intervention. This leads to self-organizing networks where there are devices in charge of measuring the environment, the sensors, and others in charge of acting on it, the actuators, which allow to control spaces to perform tasks in a versatile way. In this episode we talk about sensors, actuators and IoT, and interview Professor Macarena Espinilla, a researcher at the University of Jaén who coordinates an IoT project to help elderly people in nursing homes.
