Following a comprehensive analysis of scientific literature on the use of Artificial Intelligence and emerging digital technologies to address the current challenges in the UN’s 2030 Agenda – and therefore those challenges listed by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals – the authors of this study propose a series of socio-technological recommendations whereby it is possible to take action towards the achievement of such goals.
A preference relation R is a binary relation on a set of alternatives X … well, this sounds a bit too mathematical. Think for example of situations related to obtaining preferences about a product. In practice, we realize these observations are typically difficult to measure. Notwithstanding, we can infer the taste/preferences (of citizens, consumers, academics and practitioners…) upon the individual items they select. Thus, the relation R between item A and item B tells us that if A is chosen when B is also available, then it means A is preferred over B.
Under the assumption that we can chose our favourite among any two options, in this website we propose you different – very short – surveys or polls (one per SDG) in which you constantly choose between two options/recommendations, in order to ultimately help us obtain a comprehensive assessment of recommendations and, consequently, construct a ranking of them in accordance with the priorities expressed by poll respondents. Your input is very valuable in this study, and we enthusiastically appreciate your participation in the maximum possible number of polls.
Uncertainty is a natural part of our thinking and in these surveys you can also express it. By clicking ‘I can’t decide’ you can choose between A=B (I like both ideas / I think both ideas are the same), neither A nor B (I don’t like neither ideas / I just can’t decide), although there is also the option to indicate you do not have enough knowledge to assess one of the displayed options.
