Rosa Mª Rodríguez holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Jaén, obtained in 2008 and 2013 respectively.
She currently holds a Ramón y Cajal research contract at the University of Jaén, belongs to the research group Intelligent Systems based on Fuzzy Decision Analysis (TIC 206), and works in the area of decision-making and computing with words. She was awarded a Research Personnel Training (FPI) fellowship linked to a project of excellence at the University of Jaén to carry out her doctoral studies, for which she received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award (conferred in 2017). She has held a one-year postdoctoral contract at the Vienna University of Technology (Austria), as well as a Juan de la Cierva Formación and a Juan de la Cierva Incorporación contract, each of two years, at the University of Granada.
She received the Best Doctoral Student Paper Award at the International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics held in Tianjin (China) in 2013, and was presented with the IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems Outstanding Paper Award 2012 (presented in 2015).
She serves as Assistant Editor of the International Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, as well as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Fuzzy Systems and the Journal of Intelligent and Fuzzy Systems.
She has been ranked as a Highly Cited Researcher in 2019 and 2020, according to the Essential Science Indicators of the Web of Science.
