Granada, 12 May 2025. Desgranando Ciencia, the leading science dissemination event in the city of Granada, is back for its tenth edition. Organised by the University of Granada and the association Hablando de Ciencia, it will take place on 16 and 17 May at the Science Park in Granada.
With an entertaining and friendly language, shows, workshops and conferences related to science and history will complete a programme made up of more than 70 members of the research and dissemination community from all corners of Spain.
Artificial intelligence, astrophysics, biotechnology, health, culture, sociology, art, mathematics, neuroscience… a wide range of subjects compressed into ten-minute talks to foster curiosity and fascination for knowledge and critical thinking in the audience.
“We are proud to be able to continue organising such an important science dissemination event in the city where it was born more than a decade ago. Hablando de Ciencia is an association that has matured over the years and continues to offer events of the highest scientific quality”, says Óscar Huertas, coordinator of Desgranando Ciencia and president of the association Hablando de Ciencia.
Both the talks and the workshops do not require prior registration and admission will be free for all audiences.

However, Desgranando Ciencia will dedicate a large part of this new edition to history, to better understand where we come from and where we are going. In addition to the numerous talks that will take place over the two days, the event will culminate with a block in which many of the collaborators of the RTVE programme “Condensador de fluzo” will take part.
“Desgranando Ciencia is one of the most important science dissemination events in our country, a sure bet and of enormous quality that also this year pays special attention to History, Art History and Archaeology as a way of vindicating these scientific disciplines that generate fundamental knowledge for contemporary societies”, says Marga Sánchez Romero, director of the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit and vice-rector of University Extension, Heritage and Institutional Relations, who will also present the historical block.

Celebrating the anniversary of Grenada’s scientific and academic institutions
In 2025, Desgranando Ciencia reaches its tenth edition accompanied by the anniversaries of the local scientific institutions that have come together to collaborate in its organisation. To begin with, the thirty years since the opening of the Granada Science Park, which incorporates the event into its programme of educational activities. Two of the CSIC centres that support the festival are also celebrating several decades of scientific activity in Granada: the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía and the Estación Experimental del Zaidín, fifty and seventy years old respectively. Finally, the Unit for Scientific Culture and Innovation of the University of Granada celebrates 15 years of bringing science to society.
Desgranando Ciencia is organised by the association Hablando de Ciencia and receives the support of Granada entities such as the University of Granada, through its Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit, the Science Park and its recently created Scientific Culture Unit, and therefore the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECyT), the Andalusian Inter-University Institute in Data Science and Computational Intelligence (DaSCI-UGR), the Astrophysics Institute of Andalusia, a centre of excellence Severo Ochoa and belonging to the CSIC, as well as the Experimental Station of Zaidín and the Society for the Advancement of Critical Thinking (ARP-SAPC). It is also sponsored by the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology 2 and the Free Software Office of the University of Granada, as well as Hero, the Institute of Child Nutrition. However, an event of this magnitude is possible thanks to the patrons who participate in the crowdfunding campaign, which will remain open until the event is held.
