ODS-4

By 2030, it is necessary to achieve the following targets:

  • Ensure that all kids complete primary and secondary education at no cost, under equality and quality terms.
  • Ensure equal access to high-quality technical, professional and higher education, including university courses.
  • Increase the numbers of young people and adults with the necessary competencies to access employment, decent jobs and enterpreneurship.
  • Eliminate gender disparities and ensure equal access to teaching at all levels.

We have analyzed the literature and extracted the following ideas on how technologies are favouring this SDG.

Different digital gamification modalities (serious games, virtual reality, augmented reality apps, games, ...Las diferentes modalidades de juego digital (serious games, inmersion en RV, apps con RA, juegos, ..) allow equal learning and there exist pedagogic guidelines for their use.

Conversational agents can support teachers in educational and administrative matters, but they can also promote learning in forums, detect bad-intended contents and even decide to speak in a given language that the one envisaged in the programme they are built for.

Recommender systems allow the application of a personalized education paradigm where both the contents and the speed of delivery are adapted to each student.

Computer adaptive tests can adapt to response capacity of students and facilitate inclusive education.

Working predicated on open courses, massive and online courses, has transformed the online education catalogue and enabled ubiquitous learning, having become an optimal tool to meet the educational demands of the 21st century.

When available, technology supports helping diverse collectives.

Political measures and partnerships between countries, along with the use of AI, could positively influence the attainment of this goal.
