Targets of this goal

By 2030, it is necessary to achieve the following targets:

Ensuring access for all to housing and basic services and improving slums
Provide access to safe, affordable, accessible transportation systems, by expanding public transportation
Increase inclusive and sustainable urbanization, along with the capability for participatory planning and management
Protect and safeguard the world's cultural and natural heritage
Reduce the number of deaths caused by disasters
Reduce the negative environmental impact of cities, paying attention to air quality and waste management
Provide universal access to safe, inclusive and accessible green areas and public spaces

L.1

Significant reduction in traffic accidents thanks to the use of intelligent traffic management systems. Understand how it works, detect existing problems and make decisions by evaluating how one part can affect the rest

Intensify the development of Apps focused on the dissemination of information and the use of city services. Complement with VR / AR and establish two-way communication channels

Data is a source of value for the development of services and the creation of advanced profiles of citizens. Take a unified approach to semantic annotation and storage, and apply machine learning to measure the efficiency of services among other aspects

Adopt 'best transparency practices' and service agreements between public and private institutions

Focus on the objectives of efficient transport, less noise and air pollution, and the conservation of open and cultural spaces, may benefit sustainable tourism

R11.1 - Digital Twins of the main services of the city, to provide ubiquity to the service, better inform the citizen, and monitoring social impact

The increasing use of alternative ways to travel other than cars, and the incorporation of intelligent traffic management systems would reduce accidents on urban roads and highways. We propose to create digital twins by incorporating into these models: (1) new layers on the services and operations of cities, as a united whole; (2) a multitude of new variables about the performance of their own institutions and citizens, as well as the static resources that 'live' in it; and (3), endowing them with information on static installations identified from connected sensor networks.

R11.2 - Virtual reality / augmented reality and mobile apps in the dissemination and inclusive use of city services

The use of apps and technologies such as virtual reality / augmented reality would make it possible to extend the dissemination channels. It will make access to public services and information reachable by all strata of society, monitoring at all times that the proposals are designed under the design for all paradigm focused on the accessibility and usability of the platforms and their resources.

R11.3 - Unified management of urban data with Machine Learning

The use of machine learning techniques will allow for systems capable of interpreting and learning from the behavior of data in the past: a task that, undoubtedly, due to its volume and complexity, cannot be performed by people. To be able to do this, a unified management of urban data is necessary, as well as advanced implementations of distributed data warehouses, as a key requirement for the elaboration of advanced profiles of citizens.

R11.4 - Transparency and security in commercial and tax payments through the use of blockchain

To achieve a uniform assessment of the quality of the processes to blockchain applies, the use of good practices in public and private institutions, informational transparency and public awareness based on data is essential. Citizens need to obtain information that is understandable and useful at the same time. In the economic context, the exploitation of blockchain technologies together with a greater provision of electronic payment will promote an era of thematic management of the economy. Artificial intelligence will drive meaningful and ubiquitous recommender systems capable of processing big data in real time and for any purpose.

R11.5 - Intelligent action / rescue plans under the support of the IoT to support emergency situations

Leveraging artificial intelligence has many potential benefits that make it a suitable solution. The use of robots, sensors, drones or drones can help first responders and rescue workers to quickly access the situation, as well as measuring and analyzing the magnitude of the damage caused, to develop an action plan suitable for saving lives. It also makes rescue efforts less time consuming, safer and well coordinated.
