Management of the Institute
According to its Memory of Creation Proposal, the DaSCI Institute is conceived as a Research Institute in which the material and human resources necessary to address the main objective of the Institute are brought together, that is, to significantly promote research – and technological transfer to our society – of the advances in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
The operation of the DaSCI Institute is governed in accordance with the
- Operating Regulations of the Andalusian Inter-University Institute in Data Science and Computational Intelligence (DaSCI) (University of Granada) approved at the ordinary session of the Governing Council of the University of Granada on 1 October 2020.
- Operating Regulations of the Andalusian Inter-University Institute in Data Science and Computational Intelligence (DaSCI) (University of Jaen)
- Operating Regulations of the Andalusian Inter-University Institute in Data Science and Computational Intelligence (DaSCI) (University of Cordoba)
According to these regulations, the government and representation of the DaSCI Institute corresponds to the collegiate bodies and to its one-person bodies (director, deputy director and secretary). Its composition is described below.

The Director, Deputy Director and Secretary of the DaSCI Institute participate with the right to speak but not to vote.

It is the main governing body of the DaSCI Institute, since it allows for the establishment of general guidelines for the functioning of the Institute, and will form part of it:
Todos los miembros ordinarios del Instituto, aquellos miembros no ordinarios que ostenten acreditación a alguna figura investigadora con grado de doctor y los investigadores asociados.
- All ordinary members of the Institute, those non-ordinary members who hold accreditation to a research figure with a doctorate degree and associated researchers.
- Two representatives for each headquarters, among the non-ordinary members of the Institute who do not meet the requirement of the previous point.
- Two representatives for each headquarters of the non-ordinary members in training.
- One representative from each headquarters of the administration and services staff who carry out their activity in the Institute.
Delegated Commissions of the Institute Board
The Board of the Institute may exercise its functions through delegated commissions for study, advice and proposals on specific topics of work.
Steering Committee
The Steering Committee is the Permanent Committee of the Institute and is made up of: the Director, the Deputy Director and the Secretary of the Institute, up to three ordinary members or associated researchers belonging to the Council of the Institute for each strategic research area of the Institute, up to a maximum of 9 members in total for the Committee, chosen in a representative way among the areas and headquarters of the Institute.
Advisory Board
The Advisory Board is the body that assesses and advises on the research activities of the centre, as well as on the planning and scientific organization of the centre in relation to changes in scientific activities, teaching or services that may arise. It is presided over by the Vice-rectors competent in research from the Universities that make up the Institute and is also made up of two expert technologists representing the region’s business fabric in ICT, three PhD researchers of recognised prestige external to the Universities participating in the Institute. Also participate, with voice but without vote, the Director and Deputy Director of the Institute. The Advisory Board will be renewed every 4 years.
