24 March, 2025

May 19 to May 30, 2025

After a successful 2024 edition, ADIA Lab’s Summer School on Explainable AI returns to Granada from May 19–30, 2025! Top master’s and PhD students from Europe and the Middle East will dive into trustworthy AI with leading experts. This year, we’re focusing on fewer, more in-depth sessions for deeper discussions and hands-on learning.

Check below for details, and watch last year’s video for a glimpse into the experience-engaging lectures, hands-on sessions, and networking in a vibrant academic setting!

Learning objectives

The II summer school on Explainable and Responsible AI, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to create and evaluate transparent and trustworthy artificial intelligence systems. You will be able to explore key concepts such as explainability, enabling AI models to provide clear and interpretable insights into their decision-making processes. The course delves into trustworthy AI, emphasizing safety, alignment, and responsible deployment. Topics like large language models (LLMs) and their ethical implications highlight fairness and privacy concerns, including federated learning to protect sensitive data. Governance, accountability, and AI sustainability ensure that systems operate responsibly, while human-AI interaction and human oversight, particularly in critical fields like healthcare, reinforce the importance of maintaining control and ethical standards in real-world applications.
