There are concepts, people, data that are connected and interact with each other, in a network that explains much of the world around us. And in mathematics – and in computer science – all these interactions can be modeled as a graph. A graph is a structure that combines two types of objects: nodes (or vertices), which model entities, and edges, which connect them and model their interaction. And behind them there are 200 years of history, and of graph theory. To talk about graphs and their application in biology, today we bring to the program Clara Grima, mathematician and expert in graphs, and Luisma Escudero, computational biologist whose work with epithelial cells is based on graphs.
