Javier Ramírez Pérez de Inestrosa is University Professor in the area of Signal Theory and Communications at the University of Granada. His main lines of research are related to the processing of biomedical signals with special attention to the analysis of medical images for the development computer aided diagnosis systems. He has co-edited 8 special issues published in international journals. He has participated in 27 research projects and contracts, being the main researcher of 13 of them. He has published more than 150 papers in SCI-indexed journals, 18 book chapters, and more than 200 contributions to international conferences.

In 2020, he has been included in the list of researchers “World Scientist: World’s Top 2% Scientists” published in the prestigious journal Plos Biology, in which the global elite in the world of scientific research is included.
