Salvador García received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the University of Granada, Granada, Spain, in 2004 and 2008, respectively.

He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, University of Granada. He has had over 50 papers published in international journals. He has co-authored the book entitled Data Preprocessing in Data Mining (Springer).

His current research interests include data mining, data reduction, data learning, semisupervised learning, statistical infer.

Dr. García was a recipient of the Highly Cited Researcher Award by Thomson Reuters in the field of Computer Science in 2014–2018. He currently acts as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal Progress in Artificial Intelligence (Springer) and serves as an Associate Editor of journals, such as Information Fusion, AI Communications, Swarm, and Evolutionary Computation.
