MonuMAI
MonuMAI is a citizen science project developed jointly by the Fundación Descubre and the University of Granada, which offers the opportunity to approach the artistic heritage, combining art, mathematics, artificial intelligence and social communication of science.
Arises as an app that aims to involve the general public in the social value of the architectural heritage it photographs. When the user uploads a photo with the app, the server returns a processed photo in which architectural elements of the Hispano-Muslim, Renaissance, Baroque or Gothic styles are recognized thanks to a Deep Learning algorithm developed by DaSCI researchers. Architectural elements are recognized satisfactorily, although the algorithm needs to be trained to increase its accuracy, which is the basis for collaboration between researchers and citizens.
MonuMAI, available both on iOS and Android for free, aims to become an excellent educational, cultural and social tool that will succeed in valuing the historical heritage both for Andalusians, as for foreign visitors and other tourists who visit us.
To collaborate with MonuMAI:
– Download the APP and train our AI algorithm by uploading photos. The more the better.
– Visit the project website to meet the MonuMAI team and learn more about Mathematics, Art, Artificial Intelligence and Citizen Science. Explore the complete gallery of MonuMAIs.
